Nominations for Hispanicize Miami 2018’s Fourth Annual TECLA Awards are Now Open

The nominations period for the 4th annual TECLA Awards honoring the best Latino and multicultural social media content creators, is now open through February 9th, 2018. The prestigious awards ceremony will be the culminating event of Hispanicize Miami 2018 (April 17-19) and will take place on the evening of Thursday, April 19th, at the JW Marriott Marquis in downtown Miami. Named after the Spanish-language word for an individual key on a keyboard, the TECLA Awards honor excellence in Latino social media video, blogging, and those who create it. The 2018 TECLA Awards will once again highlight the nation’s top Latino and multicultural content creators in more than 30 categories. From top storytellers on Instagram to Twitter to YouTube, the Teclas nominees set the bar higher each year for the exploding social media creators industry.

New categories for 2018 include:


— Best Stories Content Creator (Snapchat, IG Story, FB Story)

— Best Musical.ly Content Creator

— Best Meme Content Creator

The TECLA Awards have garnered over 69 million impressions on social media and the official event hashtag #TeclaAwards became a worldwide trending topic on Twitter in 2017.

The actual ceremony will take place in the ballroom of the JW Marriott Marquis in a relaxed lounge setting with unforgettable hosts and a headlining musical performance that will kick-off the show.

All nominations for the 4th annual TECLA Awards will be considered and reviewed by Hispanicize Media Group partners and the Hispanicize National Advisory Board who together will determine the 3-5 finalists for each category. The actual winners of the 4th annual TECLA Awards will be determined by the TECLA’s Gold Academy, a panel of judges consisting of marketing, PR and social media executives, creators, and experts in the digital media industry. Winners will be revealed the night of April 19th, 2018 during the TECLA Awards ceremony, which will be streamed LIVE from Miami for viewers worldwide.
