Nominations And Awards Process

The third annual Tecla Awards will feature 23 award categories, where 2 are devoted to multicultural marketing agencies and brands. The word Tecla in Spanish stands for an individual key on a keyboard.

Awards Process And Categories

To ensure the integrity of the awards program All nominations for the 3rd Annual Tecla Awards will be considered and reviewed by Hispanicize Media Group partners and the Hispanicize National Advisory Board who together will determine the five finalists for each category. The actual winners of the 3rd Annual Tecla Awards will be determined by The Teclas Gold Academy, a panel of judges consisting of marketing, PR and social media executives, creators, and other experts in the digital media industry. Winners will be revealed the night of April 6th, 2017 during the Tecla Awards ceremony.

Partners of the Hispanicize brand of companies, will not be eligible to win any of the awards however the brands and/or agencies who work with them will not be excluded from nominating entries.

Advisory board members of Hispanicize 2017 are eligible to be nominated for awards but will not be allowed to vote for any categories or programs that directly or indirectly relate to them or their organizations.

There is no limit to the number of categories someone can be nominated for but it is always best to submit nominations for the categories that are most relevant to your blog, social media platform, agency or brand.

The Tecla Awards are open to all bloggers, social media influencers, content creators who are either Latino or create content that targets Hispanic and/or a multicultural audience. The current audience or following that a blogger or micro-blogger has is irrelevant to the awards. The Tecla Awards were created to showcase quality and excellence and in some cases that may mean the awards introduce a lesser know talent to the world.

The criteria for winning a Tecla Award will vary depending on the type of category a submission is nominated for: blogging, microblogging, social media or marketing. In general all nominations will be judged on Content Quality, Technical Quality, Honor and Achievement. All categories have a brief description of what that criteria is.

Deadlines And Dates

The nominations process ends March 7th and finalists will be announced that week.

Except for categories specific to Spanish-language content creators, all nominations will be treated equal regardless of language.

Award winners will be announced at the Tecla Awards gala event which takes place during Hispanicize conference on Thursday April 6th. To attend the awards, you will need to register for a full event pass. We do not sell tickets to only the TECLA AWARDS.

The Prize

Other than the prestige of being nationally recognized as a finalist and potential winner of the awards, finalists will get one full event pass (valued at $750) to attend Hispanicize 2017.

For Marketing Award

At least some part of the program must have occurred in 2016. Programs tend to have better chances of winning near their completion, when evaluation against initial objectives can be measured.
