We are thrilled that you are interested in ensuring the success of the Hispanicize 2017 conference and becoming a member of the #Hispz17 volunteer team. For the last EIGHT years, Hispanicize volunteers have gone above and beyond their call of duty to ensure all Hispanicize-related events run smoothly both for presenters and attendees.   As a Hispanicize volunteer you will secure an opportunity to attend an iconic, large annual event with the best-of-the-best Latino trendsetters.For 4 event-filled days, from April 3-6, 2017, the conference will  welcome newsmakers in journalism, blogging, marketing, entertainment and tech entrepreneurship from the U.S and around the world to celebrate all the movers and shakers who are changing the face of the Hispanic market.

PLEASE NOTE: Hispanicize 2017 Conference seeks volunteers from the South Florida area. Hispanicize will not be paying for flights or hotels and you are responsible for your own transportation to and from the hotel and offsite activations.


If you are interested in being part of the #Hispz2017, please review the following: 

Hispanicize Volunteers must:

-Express an authentic desire to go above and beyond

-Demonstrate a positive attitude

-Posses the ability to problem solve and think ahead

-Be available to volunteer for 2 full days during the course of the conference 

-Ability to work a volunteer shift of 14-20 hours over the course of 4 days

-Attend a mandatory orientation session being held on Sunday, April, 2, 2017. (Location and time TBD)


**Once you sign up as a Hispanicize volunteer via Volunteer Local,you are able to select your job shifts.  **


About Volunteer Local:

Volunteer Local is the online software we use for our volunteer scheduling system.  It should make signing up streamlined and user friendly. You will choose your volunteer shits and secure control over your schedule. You can  add shifts at your convenience online.  Keep in mind to only sign-up for shifts that you can actually be involved in. 


How it works:

  1. Register online.
  2. Fill-out complete application.
  3. We will review & approve your registration.
  4. Attend the mandatory volunteer orientation.
  5. Please sign up for at least 3-4 shifts, or more if you like!
  6. You’ll receive an email reminder the day before your shifts.
  7. Show up to volunteer!


Hispanicize Volunteer Code: 

  • SHOW up on TIME!
  • Always wear you badge for entrance into all Hispanicize on and off-site events.
  • Check-in with your team leader.
  • Work your shift.
  • Be professional at all times.
  • Have an emergency and can't show up, please call or text. 



  • Postive Impact Awards and TECLA. Please wear ALL black. Black slacks or skirt, black blouse, black dress with black shoes.
  • Teamwork TimeKeepers, Registration Relations: Please wear comfortable shoes, nice-looking pants (jeans are ok!). A clean and professional appearance at all times is advised. 
  • Don't wear: flip-flops, any open-toed shoes, platform or high-heeled shoes, clothing or jeans that are ripped or torn, clothing that is revealing, midriff shifts, or shorts above your mid-thigh.  If you are not dressed appropriately, you won’t be able to work your shift.



Meet the DiMe team and help set-up workshops and main space. Organize name tags, check-in materials, set tables, and chairs. Run errands. Prepare sponsor bags.

MONDAY-  DiMe Summit @ Wynwood

Produced by DiMe Media, the ¡DiMe! Summit is an intimate, all-day VIP experience for Latino content creators attending Hispanicize 2017. The summit will include sessions and hands-on workshops with two simultaneous tracks throughout the day.

Primary responsibilities: assist with registration/check-in, ensure sessions/workshops run on time, help with sponsor activations, pass out sponsor gifts to attendees, help with the breakdown of the event. Run errands (runner). Ensure space is tidy/looks good. Assist with fashion show.

Hours: 7:30 a.m.- 8 p.m. (select shifts)

Location:  Rubell Family Collection- 95 NW 29th St, Miami, FL 33127


Hispanicize timekeepers are provided the opportunity to attend informative and insightful sessions and serve as session leads during the morning and daytime hours.


Primary responsibilities: be the primary key contact for session speaker(s), attendees, and AV crew; ensure rooms have water/or snacks available;  time the sessions start and end time; commence Q&A session after speakers wrap-up and tweet or post images from session dialogue.


Dates: Tuesday, April, 4, 2017 - Thursday, April 6, 2016.

Hours:  7:45 a.m. - 6:15 p.m. (choose shifts)

Location: JW Marriott Marquis - 255 Biscayne Blvd Way, Miami, FL 33131



Sponsored by Prudential Financial, the Positive Impact Awards aim to recognize Hispanic Americans who do outstanding work in their communities. Over the past three years, the Positive Impact Awards have honored 25 Latinos from all corners of the United States who have dedicated their lives, time and money to ensuring that their communities have access to the resources and support they need to succeed.


Primary responsibilities: assist with reserved seating, attend to onsite VIP needs (request or dietary concerns), crowd management, manage red carpet, register guests, guard door entrances, receive and follow instructions from onsite team, etc.

Hours:  6:30- 10:30 p.m.

Location: JW Marriott Marquis, Ballroom, 19th Floor



Named after the Spanish-language word for an individual key on a keyboard, the 3rd Annual Tecla Awards honor excellence in U.S. Latino online video, blogging, media, marketing and those who create it. The 3rd Annual Tecla Awards reflect the growing state of original programming native to YouTube, Facebook, Vine, Instagram, live broadcasting, blogging and virtually all types of social media platforms.

Primary responsibilities: walk talent receiving awards to media onsite, staff interviews, assist backstage, serve as talent escorts, run errands, manage media at red carpet event, etc.
